The iRex Digital Reader Companion software followed the DR1000 series release and was intended to be a way for the user to transfer documents to and from their readers and keep things organized. The program was stored on the SD card in the reader and could be installed on any PC the reader connected to.

 

I used bookshelves as a way to create reading lists and groups of related items as well as allowing tags to be added to the files all of which would appear on the Digital Reader.

 

There was also a section where they could manage the device settings and set options for automatically downloading content from iRex servers to the device using WiFi.

Because of time and resource restrictions, this design was not chosen for the project.
